Stuff I don’t like:
Stupid video ads for the S90 that cause my phone to pause Spotify even though the ad is muted.
Way to alienate your target Jalopnik audience of people who won’t buy your car but complain about how no one is buying your car.

Listen here HomelySunchipsOfChodes: times is tough. If you block the ads, Gawker might not be able to pay off Hogan, meaning Jalopnik might be parted out in bankruptcy. And we wouldn't want that...

We’d just do a group buy and run oppositelock as the new jalopnik frontpage...

Jalopnik......... go for the advertising, stay for the content.......?

Does that mean I can buy graverobber?
I’ll force him to browse Craigslist with me and write up NPoCP stories for each open tab.

Is it because you’re stealing content with an adblocker?
![]() 07/19/2016 at 09:03 |

Nope, on my phone right now, no adblocker...

What are these ads you speak of?

Weird. Maybe Volvo doesn't want to sell to you.

Content thieves like you are the reason that Macho Man Randy Savage was able to buy Gawker Media from Hulk Hogan for a Slim Jim.

I don’t get those autoplay ads either on my Windows Phone

Neither do I, and I’m on iOS 9. This shit’s on Kinja. Let’s keep it at that.

I disagree sir, I am not a content thief. I am merely choosing how my mobile data gets spent, Gawker does not pay my phone bill every month so I don’t see why I should let them take money out of my pocket with ads I don’t want to see. Depending on the website up to 30% of data spent on viewing the webpage is ad’s and quite frankly if Gawker media was a little more diligent on the content of their ads I’d be more inclined to allow them to consume my data. However they don’t, so I won’t.
If you want people to see your ads, you have to make them want to see it and not force them. This is coming from someone who worked for a Marketing company for a spell before my current job.

I was just kidding.
Although now you have me wondering how much data a video ad like that Volvo one uses and I’m even more irritated than I was.

I know lol, I was just being a dick. They use a lot and you’d be surprised how much better your browsing experience is with out them.

At least on the iPhone, using adblockers seemed to turn Kinja into more of a dumpster fire than usual, but it think it’s because most of them has social button blocking. I just ended up giving up and accepting my fate.

I realized last week that it actually locks up my Firefox browser. Pain in the A....

Android seems to be just the usual dumpster fire so who knows.
